The number of times I have been in the city earlier in the morning for breakfast Hawkeye in the last 10 years is zip.

Whatever is good at 7am. Str8 Jacket has mentioned Waring Taylor Street.

Luven apparently do good breakfasts and there is a bike park directly outside which will be empty at that time in the morning. Perfect for Str8 as it's almost across the road for her. I work 1 min from there so again ideal for me and it's straight onto the quay to get to the shop from there.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

I work on Waring Taylor St and park my bike in the basement of work on Magginity St but don't worry about me for Brekkie. The price of one breafast is probably equal to 1 tank of gas for me!!! I am happy to escort BB#1 to wherever he needs to be though...

As long as you're not riding a 1400cc Str8 Jacket, my credit card won't run that far, and seeing as you stepped up and offered to ride in with me, breakfast is on me.

    Alternative route

If you don't want to deal with traffic and split take the long way. Haywards, Porirua back road to Jville. Jville via khandallah and Crofton Downs into top of city.
    Here for the ride.

    Another option

The Airporter bus runs past the bottom of Stokes Valley. Take the bike into The Big City at an off-peak time and use Winston's Gold Card to get home free! The next day, again at an off peak time, use your Gold Card to go back into town. Ask the nice driver to drop you off at Courtenay Place and it's an easy five minute stroll to Motorad. That would save you the cost of breakfast and presumably much angst. The Airporter is airconditioned, has racks that can be conveniently used to store bike gear, and it's air conditioned with free Wi-Fi for your travelling pleasure.

Cheers Str8 Jacket, good to catch up this evening down at the duckpond. Had a cold one when I got home too. Lest We Forget.

You know I've done that run twice while running in the new Ninja these last 10 days. Getting it up in a high rpm band now and will be fine for the motorway no sweat.

Thanks for that Hitcher, Winston's GC is a few years off still. Actually I did that Flyer run a couple of times when I used to take the GN250 into the WMC.

Thanks For Riding In This Morning

My thanks to Str8 Jacket and Hawkeye for leading and tailing into town this morning. Was a good time to get on the motorway. One thing is for sure I most certainly would not be a commuter, well not at my age anyways.

Enjoyed the breakfast and chat. Dropped the bike off at Motorad then walked to Freyberg pool. Got back to a coffee cart just around the corner from Motorad about 9.50am and the bike was ready bang on time at 10am.

    Thanks again.

Been a while since I rode THAT responsible on the morning commute. Didn't split once. Very sedate pace. However, it was much quieter at that time in the morning then it is during my normal commute time. Normally leave Tawa between 7:30 - 8:30 (depends how fast I get my arse out of bed). By then the peak traffic is backed up to Churton Park/Granada.
