"I've been getting really miffed with the new camera mount recently. It shows such promise but the bloody camera can't handle the vibration and keeps switching off, not saving the movies or having read/write errors.
Then I remembered the old dodgy helmetcam setup I played with a while ago. Nothing is a better vibration dampener than a body.
The results are nice. I forgot to do two things however. 1) zoom in a little to get rid of the borders and 2) to lock the focus so it doesn't keep going blurry like it does.
during the test the camera did turn off a couple of times which had me worried. Maybe the camera itself is bung. Then I realised that the battery almost dead. D'oh!
Now all I have to do is bring the power cable to the camera on the helmet, via a quick release plug or two for ease and safety. If I come flying off the bike I don't want my head still attached to it!
Should be easy (I hope) ..."
