Streetstock 150 Class dropped from Wanganui '09!

With only 8 confirmed entries who could blame the organisers! I just wish that I had 'manned' up and entered!!

I know there will be alot of people that will be happy as it was never a popular decision to run SS150's. What gets me is now that they've tried to incorporate us and it failed big time, why would anyone try again. I'm talking National events etc...

Still at least those riders still get to run in F3 if they choose. Best of luck to you!

Not the best result for encouraging SS150's in the North Island!

I think its not a bad thing that its been dropped from Wanganui at least.
It is a very challenging & unforgiving circiut & im not sure its the best place for what is essentially an entry level class.

we dont run SS in any street races down south. Its really a learners class for teenagers and road circuits can be unforgiving. Theres usually 5-8 odd weee bikes at the back of f3, they seen to have there own race and its good that way. Most races are way too short to worry even remotely about getting lapped too.

Nationals on the other hand is a different story in my mind, but thats a whole other topic

It's all just words I guess Helen. But Wanganui is not a "national" event. The National Championship certainly is though and Streetstock has run successfully as a support class in the 3 South Island National rounds for 5 years now. It's actually a level above a support class as the points are accumulated over the 9 races, awarding placings in two categories, the Teenagers and the (slow) minority, the oldies. If people want the benefits and excitement of being involved in a National Championship, without high cost and complexity, then this IT.

The racing is good, full feilds, safe and reliable. Coaching and support is provided for all. So to North Islanders who want good quality Streetstock opportunities, get your butts down here in January. Or we'll be saying "where hell are ya..."

Hey Pete, I know that Wanga's is not a National event, what I was meaning that we always complain in the NI that we are not included in the "Nationals" but now clubs can quite easily say that there is a lack of interest in SS150's in the North Island and not consider us for a class in the NI rounds...

There is no way in hell we can afford to travel to the South for racing either unfortunately.

Get your entries in for the Nationals in the South Island. 3 circuits, 9 races
full feilds and a very high standard to develop your Streetstock riding skills.
