    Tyre recommendations for an XJ600?

Almost time for some new boots, currently on GT501's and wondering if I replace what it's got or if there's something more suitable.

Mostly around town or 2 up touring, don't need anything super sporty as I ride like a nana.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

Bridgestone BT45 would be ideal and although not quite as "sporty" as the BT45 on my XJ550 I ran Pirelli "Route 66" and at 10,000km they weren't anywhere close to worn out

For your riding description the Route 66 will be a good tyre - kind of a cruiser tyre but I ran some on a old 750 twin Kawasaki and found them plenty sticky for the limits of that bike and engine. Lasted ages too!

Pop down to Cycle Treads in Manchester Street and have a chat with Don - he'll sort you out.

I've had pegs scraping and knee down at Ruapuna using them and they'd already done 10,000km by then

BT45's - a step up from the 501's in my experience - Big Don sells a LOT of 'em, be guided by his customer feedback

I have to agree with the large one on that . I'd sell heaps of them too if Eurotreads would supply me . The Dark Lord has nothing to do with this place .

I don't want to sell my soul, I just want some tyres

Cheers for the advice, booked in for some BT45's on friday and then probably a wee ride to give them a scuff before I head off to the coast in the rain...
