    After advice on Lorikeets

Looking at getting a Lorikeet sometime soon.
Just after things to look out for and general advice.

Had birds when I was a little fulla, can't remember much.

    Wondering about cage size
    Food
    General care
    Anything else

This might be a start http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=257464751

    Cheers

For fuck's sake man. When your mum said "I think it's about time you got yourself a bird," I'm certain a Lorikeet was the last thing on her mind.

    They're best roasted.

Drumsticks are a bit small though.

If you want pet birds then buy some chickens. They make great pets. Especially when you get them drunk.

I have a Lorikeet, though is with my kids at moment in CHCH...Had him for about 4 years so far...he talks, makes a heck of a lot of noise and is generally a bit nutty!!!

You want a resemble size cage....the bigger the better...a pet shop will help ya with that...

Good place to start for info is the Lory-Link....its a kiwi website too...that always helps

loris are hard case, but if its a pet you'r after dont get parent reared.Hand reared birds are way better. One problem with lories is they need wet food (can get dry mix too) as they dont eat seeds,so they shit alot more.
