Could be a starter, will let you know later on in the week. I am from whangarei and my g/f lives there so I could visit her and do the ride thing all in one weekend...

Thats a good point mate! Forgot it was parked in Quasi's garage. Im hoping it just needs new plugs, I had the same thing happen a couple of years once I thought about it. Will get some in the next day or so and give it a whirl.

Big sure can on that front. Will be in AK Friday for friend's BD party and riding back up to WHG Sat if anyone wish to follow me up (TXT 027 4534350). I was planning do a scout of the roads up here on Sun for the Southern Cross riders (checking road conditions and distances/times for various routes, see http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...0&postcount=26). Just a note Mangakahia Rd (the one Twin Bridges is on ) still has heaps of roadworks on it (see http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...&postcount=120)so would not advise using this road at the moment.

    Cheers

Know off 3 place where there is road works just between Wairua Bridge (Titoki side) and Parakao alone. Have not been North of Parakao since I posted this (see http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...&postcount=117):
Mangakahia Rd just South of and 2 Km North of the Twin Bridges: Unmarked pea-metal, watch thoughs twistys (don't go this way often, last sited 31/03/05).

Mangakahia Rd about 10Km South of Kaikohe (the twisties around Trefoils Girl Guide camp): They seem to be widening it so this could be ripped up by the WE and have Medium to Course metal on it (don't go this way often, last sited 31/03/05).

If things are going the pace as they are on the other bits, I would expect to find the following:
Mangakahia Rd just South of and 2 Km North of the Twin Bridges will still having unmarked pea-metal.
    And
Mangakahia Rd about 10Km South of Kaikohe (the twisties around Trefoils Girl Guide camp) having Medium to Course metal on it or new seal with pea-metal (possibly unmarked).

Might check it out today if I cann't be buggered working

Yes, Tink (Pam) and I definately intend to be there, Tinks just bought a GSX750F and this will be her first decent boot on it. Would love to give accomodation but are going to a house warming party Sat night. You said you were leaving Whangarei at 10am, but from where? The information centre as you come into town would be easy to find for anyone from out of town. Look forward to seeing you guys Sunday.
