    I need a project bike...

I'm looking at getting an old and completely buggered bike and doing it up when I move into a place with a garage early next year. Just thought I'd put some feelers out and see if anyone knew of anything I might be able to follow up on? Ideally I'd like to get hold of a BSA or Triumph 40's-50's era which is complete but been sitting around un-loved for some time so I could do a complete bottom to top rebuild but I'd consider just about any project. The budget will depend on quite a few things (but is still going to be pretty small) and I'm a while away from actually buying at the moment so anyone who has anything knocking around they want rid of let me know

careful, they breed... You will end up with more than one in the shed.

(I was told this incidentally, a few years ago, and dimissed it as the ramblings of an idiot, now have bits of bikes everywhere). Good luck finding a project though, it is very rewarding bringing something back from the dead...
    Where's that fucking spanner...

I agree, once you have restored one, they send out a mystical signal to others of their breed, suddenly you have two, then three, then you get offers for seveal more, beofre you know it, you are a specialist in that model, yet you still know fuck all about the first one you have just finnished getting on the road!'
But it is very satisfying once you have finnished the first one, taken it on its first ride, then its first rally and had all those positive comments from those riders who have had one.
It makes the second once more interesting....and on it goes, till you end up walking on crutches with the first bike hanging above the fireplace because you now too old to ride it. But you still have three more in the shed under restoration .
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
