Radiator hoses

I drive an 1995 Opel Omega, great family car being only slightly smaller than a commodore/falcon (proper five adult car) but with a more efficient 3.0L V6, and all the bells and whistles associated with a German car. Problem is they seem to be pretty rare for some reason, which is proving to be a headache atm. Last week the top radiator hose blew, after making a few enquiries, which led to one of the dealers contacting Germany, we found that the hose is now obsolete. I could get a hold of one through a wreckers but I'm a little bit dubious about the idea and at 60+gst its not exactly cheap either.

I'm hoping someone might know of a place that could copy the original hose and make me a new one (peferably chch). Or any other good suggestions.

Before anyone asks I have tried just matching it with another similar hose, but having pulled it off I found that some muppet had decided that designing each end of the hose to be a diff. size was a good idea . Also, I have thought about splicing diff. hoses somehow but its a high pressure system so not so keen.

He said each end of the hose is different diameter, which would make it harder to match. You can try slotting a smaller diameter hose inside a larger one.

High pressure? I'll wager ye that it's no more high pressure than any other cooling system at around 14PSI (1 Bar).

If you really can't get one, if possible cut the split section out and put a piece of suitable pipe in there. Just be aware that the hose has split becuase it's old and perished so have the cooling system pressure tested once repaired to ensure it's not going to just split at another point.

There's no problem splicing hoses either. I'm sure you can get a flared double end pipe.

Lol its split just beside the waterpump, I had to tape it to get home but it doesn't stop the leak entirely and I'm sure itd only be a matter of time before it blows out again

~35mm and 40mm inside diametre, split end with the tape is the bigger end. Though I might as well post a pic since apparently it didn't happen otherwise, and everyone can see the strange child I'm dealing with.
