Killer Bug Outbreak + general illness

Since I've been sick since Sunday past, and I don't feel any better (worse even) and together with the Killer Bug outbreak at Wgtn Hosp Neonate unit (just over the road from the hospital I work at) I was wondering, is anyone else sick at the moment? Almost half the people I work with were coughing and otherwise looking ill yesterday. Over at Wellington I think 18 nurses (or thereabouts) have this "killer bug" as well as a few babies.

Don't think I have THAT bug, but it feels close

Killer bug? First I've heard of it. I'm not feeling too hot at the moment, but I think it's a mixture of long hours and cronic hayfever. Get well soon man.

For feck's sake Stoney. You paranoid hypochondriac. It's only Staphlococcus aureus. Common as mud. As easy to kill as an Iraqi moped courier.

    That don't surprise me.

All these 'soft cocks' who get antibiotics for a little cold, shit, this is why bugs are getting resistant.

just wait until we have real superdooper bugs. Then all who take the stupid medicine for nothing (and hence have no immune system) will all die a horrible death. And all the dirty little africans and indians will survive because they actually have immune systems.

I sorta have a health check every 3-4 months. When I go to donate blood (but not to the road). Other than that, I can't remember when last I visited a doctor. Probably about 3 years ago.

Our family doesn't even have a proper family doctor....

Bear in mind also that Staph aureus is REALLY common amongst newborns. Both my successfully spawned kids had staph spots for the first couple of weeks. The babies that died had a 50/50 chance of survival. Premature babies born between 24 and 28 weeks are as a fragile as any living thing can be, and only survive with intense medical intervention. The slightest load on their tiny systems kills them, as their immune system just isn't working yet.

On another note, I feel like crap. Tired, rhinitus is driving me nuts, and I just want to cry all the time. I might be pregnant!

    Me neither.
But, I was real sick last week, got better went on holiday, came back to a sick baby, then got sick again .... I'm starting to feel better, but my baby, even tho slept through the whole night last night, still insists on playing in water fully clothed and then running around in only a nappy giggling at the top of her lungs "Look at my fat tum-mee"
    *sigh*
It's hard to keep a serious face on ....
I'm not down with the sickness ...

Nah that's just PMT or maybe you're going through "the change".
