Every ride day I've been to, so many of the riders come and find us to say thank you so much for a great day. Always hearing good feedback from those that have been down. There are plenty of regulars and even get to see the odd celebrity! Very well organised and safety is the top priority.

That's all good I've got myself complete leathers, zip together and everything for extra safety , didn't think there was any point not getting it while I was new and more suceptible to crashes. And I also bought them all with the intention of going to some race tracks to have some track days.

Ooo pukes good, and can even ride through the Hunuas to get me there in the mornings, warm up

Puke track decentish? $90 for the whole day is much more reasonable!

Puke is a complete goat track compared to HD. As has already been stated, you could be sharing the back straight with bikes doing 300km/h plus.

Oh and you're not insured on a test day.

HD is Hampton Downs, although it sounds like Pukekohe is the place for you.

    ARG!

Maybe I'll build my own racetrack...

Fine guess I'll end up going to HD, in a month or so. Better be worth it! Doesn't it have a death trap corner or something though? Few guys died there ain't they?

    You're thinking of Puke.

It is worth it - like I said always hear great feedback especially on how well organised the day is. There are 4 groups first is White for slow, Yellow for Medium, Green for Medium Fast and Red for Fast. You can register in the group you think you will be suited to, if it's not suitable after a session you can see us girls and we will move you up or down, whichever you want. It's worth at least giving it a go.

thats fantastic news! only one person died.. on a open day. not under race conditions. yay!!!!!!! Lets wait till lots of people hit the wall before it actually gets dealt with.

superman - your worried about a "death trap corner" but on the otherhand willing to go out on a no holds barred Puke test ride? You'll be out on your 250cc getting passed at unbelievable speeds. Sounds like hell to me and all it takes it for you to cross into someones line (who you wont see coming) and game over. Please mate go to a HRD or ART so you can get someone to show you the ropes.

ttmadness - I would suggest that using the test puke day to relieve some tension is going to end badly. What I can't quite undertand is that you have the financial capacity to purchase and maintain a late model CBR but seem reluctant to buy the right gear (jeans?!? really?!?) and attend a track day where you'll actually learn how to ride your machine in a safe envionrment. Not being a prick but I just don't get it.

In the end the rules are not there to hold you back but to provide an environment so people are comfortable and safe within their riding ability. If you think your fast then sign up to the fast group...I think you'd find out very quickly that there's a lot more to riding on a track than trying to get redline on the straights...there's corners remember.

puke is old and outdated and not biker friendly and acknowledged as such.

i dont know of any examples where a rider has fallen at manfield due to the track and died.

just happy that its only one death. that is good news huh?

Sorry don't think this got answered? No you can't go in on jeans etc, HD run a full leather policy as cordura etc is no good for anything over 100kph. You will be ripped to shreds if you came off too much faster than that. Safety is the number one priority at HD.

You can hire all leathers and helmet, gloves & boots if you need it for $75 for the day. If you don't wreck any of it..

The single death at Hampton Downs was due to badly set up suspension (that's from 2 independent and very knowledgeable sources).
