    Manfeild long circuit question...

Has anyone got any videos from either F2 or F1 classes on the Manfeild long circuit - preferably a forward facing camera?

I have been looking on youtube, but can only find the short track on rear facing cams.

Also, is there a line through turn 11 (?) that avoids the massive bump or does it run across the whole track?

    Cheers

The best line is the one that gets you through it quickest with maximum exit speed, quite how someone's supposed to describe a "line" online (get it?) is beyond me.

For the record, that turn is the best turn of New Zealand race tracks

I found that everyone (in my class) exited really wide on the apex which left a big kick arse gap up the inside to pass on, seemed to work for me
Ive run out of fucks to give

Keep the weight outa your hands, don't overcontrol the front and stay ON the gas- not been to Manfeild, and don't know your paticular "bump" but that's the general rule

Ummm........know of a few others that might have a few more challenges to them than that bend. The line for me is tight on the inside as you cross the track repair/bump.

I've been down south plenty. Just never spent so long on the edge of the tyre while accelerating that hard, which is what I enjoy. What track down south has something similar pray tell?

What he said. The "trench" is shallower there (as far as I can tell)

I think it would be a very cool corner indeed WITHOUT the trench.

OK Glen - if the bump wasn't there how would you do that section ?
For my limited ability that bump DOMINATES that whole section and truth be told I really wouldn't have a clue how to ride that (what appears to me to be a triple apex) big ass single curve from where the hairpin ends until it joins the back straight.

I'm not really sure exactly what F2 or F1 means (isn't it a key on your keyboard??! ), but Southmotian posted a vid of one of his last runs on the track day on the 7th Dec.

    Southmotian's youtube video

Not sure if that's what you are looking for, but I hope it helps

    Hi Wharfy:
Like many decreasing apex turns, mid track entry trailing the brake out to a higher mid-corner turn point then cut back to a late inside apex. (a bit like the the Dunlop sweeper on the main track). (but the bump can screw that method up, - unless of course you have the set up from heaven & then bumps virtually dont exist)
Or you could do it the Shirriffs way on "Bucky the Superbike" & go piling up the inside line hard on the brakes, keep it in tight & then give it a fistfull whilst still keeping it in tight early coming out.
Both methods are effective , but one requires blind faith in front end grip & the other requires balls.........

I hope your taste for women is better than your taste for a good corner! Surely you have you ridden at ruapuna? The sweeper coming onto the front straight has a way longer period of 'hard up it while on your side', even coming out of nana's has a huge amount of time of leant over with the throttle open.

It would be a much better corner without the bump, but everyone has to ride over it so it's all equal in the end.
