    Another LEO U-Turn

Was talking to a customer outside the shop this arvo and noticed a LEO car coming down the hill towards us. Another car was going opposite way. Copper saw this other car - must have recognised it as "of interest" or something - and pulled a U-Turn to give chase...

OK in and of itself. But given the fact that there were other cars behind him and also in front of him, I thought he showed considerable disregard for the safety of everyone else on the road. Brakes on everywhere, couple of squealing tyres. No damage to anyone, so all good in the end.

However, I couldn't help but think that either A) he didn't really check, or B) he didn't really care. Either way, I bet if he had seen anyone else do what he did, he would've chased them as well (and prolly pulled another u'y...).

Given all the publicity over the past months about a couple of bad outcomes from this stunt, do you not think the message would go out loud and clear? 'Cause I do...

Yebbit - the thrill of the chase beckoned.

Is it too much to expect those who enforce laws to not consider themselves to be above them?
I was on my way home tonight, following a cop car, the lights turned amber, and I was really surprised he didn't even bother trying to stop. He would've been doing no more'n maybe 30km/h, so it wasn't as if it was dangerous or even particularly hard to come to a stop. At the very least, he could've given himself a ticket or a stern telling off.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

A little from column A, and a little from column B.

    The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Last time a cop chased me he was well up the road before he put the brakes on and did a proper u-turn. Not all of them are idiots.

Hahahaha fuckin' ha. Whatever mate, they'll NEVER learn coz they all think they are above the law they're supposed to uphold.

A year ago (it still hasn't got to court) my daughter was heading home after dropping me off at the airport. She was following another car for some time with her headlights on. The car in front pulls left and my daughter (correctly in the eyes of most) assumes the driver is either stopping or turning left. No indicators mind you....

My daughter moves to the right of her lane to pass and without warning the car turns sharp right, collecting my daughters left front, spinning her off the road, writing her car off. It was stuck between a tree and a lamp post on the opposite side of the road, a very lucky escape.

Daughter climbs from wreck (unassisted, coz other female driver is on the phone by now) and was told "we just didn't see you". (Try; "just didn't look.") Driver of offending vehicle says "It's ok I'm a police officer" and she had called her buddies to come and pick her up, which they did.

To cut a long story short; this off-duty police officer not only didn't call an amulance for my daughter (and neither did her buddies) after performing a dangerous u-turn but she has now lodged Disputes Tribunal papers BEFORE the matter has been to court. (They charged my daughter with 'crossing double yellow lines causing an accident', bollocks she was avoiding one) Also, my daughter has 3rd party insurance, so why the need to lodge papers anyway?

On top of this, her work buddies took a statement from my daughter (who was undoubtedly in shock) and put in the statement words she never uses. Then they told her to "leave the scene". Next day she and her boyfriend and her boyfriends father return to the scene to take photos only to find a police photographer there. Fair enough. They rang the station to find out why the pohotographer was there and were told there was no record of the accident.

If that's the case, WTF is a police photographer doing there?

The whole thing reeks of the old boys network; protecting a fellow officer who made a u-turn without indicating or looking.

There's a shitload more to this, naturally, but I'm sure you get the picture.

Sorry mate but sounds like your girl is in the wrong (talking about the accident not the other shit that has gone on as a result!). My brother was heading down a little country road when a car pulls to the left so my brother goes right to go around it. Then the car swings across to the right and my brother hits him square on. The car was apparently turning into a driveway on the right. My brother was seen to be in the wrong although i don't remember why. He drives like an idiot anyway so he deserved it.

I was prepared to accept that she might be, but; there was a road to the right a bit further back, the road where the cop lives. It's clear she'd been gas-bagging and overshot. Then she fails to indicate her intention to move left and then swings a u-turn over double yellows.

On top of that the Road Code states that when turning you must make sure your way is clear. She didn't do that, obviously. Also, WTF is she doing turning across double yellows?

I've seen the same thing. A car following the unit was forced to take evasive action, and eventually come to a complete halt in the middle of the road while the copper did a U ee in front of them.

Fuck them I reckon. This mission from god bullshit must stop.

Why don't we start a website up, just to fuck them over? We could get all sorts of people who have been wronged and launch a LOT of action against the the fuzz. I'm sure all sorts of activists would get involved as well.

Because you dumb ass, MOST people who claim to be wronged (most not all) by the cops are just sore because they got snapped doing something illegal, or if continuing in the same manner would start to do something illegal.

Boohoo I got a speeding ticket, boohoo ticket for not stopping at a stop sign, boohoo caught with booze in a liquor ban. How about we just disband the police, would that be better you ass clown ? How about every time someone makes a mistake we just shoot them, dead, over.

How about you start up a website for people like me, who are sick of fucking homos pissing and moaning about how they got hard done by, by the police. Where I can abuse people for whinging like a small child who got told to go to bed early.

Like poeple who wear hats in cars, taxi drivers and other numerous road users, anything with a flashing light is an unpredictable hazard. I'm very weary of them and assume they will do something like a U'ee.
