    This is a troll right?

The road south from there is rated as one of the very best rides in the world.
I'd rate it one of the best in this country. Look at the threads mentioning "West Coast Highway" or similar

One of New Zealand's best French restaurants can be found in Hokitika. The gateway to south Westland. Fantastic!

Hokitika is the best town in the country

The streets a wide enough to do a U-turn in a bullock cart

There was at one time 118 pubs

    And I grew up there

    What more do you need?

there are some rural dead straight unpoliced roads a bit inland long enough to stretch the legs of most bikes.

Well, um, NO. But I will generally have an idea if I'm asking about a place. However you are obviously looking for a type of place on a biking route, so, tell us what you are looking for and maybe we can help. Many of us have travelled the whole country at some stage.

And when you do decide to come down south there will be plenty of KBers happy to join up and ride parts of the country with you.

i was asking coz i saw something for sale there and i wasnt having much luck with maps on the net! and the place obviously is not very big or famous otherwise i might have heard of it!

im looking for a cafe/bar to buy, yes on a biking route, and i dont really want to have it on the south island! however, i will see you down there sometime, when i dont knpw yet but i will get there!

So why aren't you still there? Possibly because it makes Pontefract look like New York....
