Congrats CK. Very nice, great colours. Much better than the BLUE every man and his dog wants/has.!

Must admit suprised you abandoned Kawasaki, the youth today...no brand loyalty.

    Very nice.

    "Pre-owned" or brand spankers?

I can now breath a gigantic sigh or relief after knowing for a few weeks and me not being able to spill was quite difficult. But congrats on the new bike at least i'll be able to see you against the tree's when you are way way way off in the distance

    Thumbs up Isn't she lovely?

Cheers guys. I'm well stoked with it too!

cheers to aff man, 750Y, andrew and nhuan for not spoiling my fun when they already knew.

nah, i won't jump into F2 with it (heck, unless MNZ comply with my begging, I may not even be racing in clubmans this round!) Anyway, F2 has guys on dedicated 600 racers with slicks that would either get me too excited and out of control as I tried to follow them or cut me up so badly in the corners that i'd get all nervous. Clubmans is the place for me to start for sure.

As for brand loyalty BB, come on dude!! You know I'm a huge fan of the kawasaki's. I've owned three of them. I would've got a 636 if they were as cheap as these. Anyway, I'll be living in debt for at least the next 18 months paying this off so I'm lucky to have it at all!

Anyway, my initial impressions after 1 day are:-

Brakes: WOW!! best part of the package. I can feel stoppies coming on already. Not sure if its the weight difference and hard suspension with the tokicos over my old nissin system and softer front on the 6R but it sure feels a whole lot nicer!

Looks:  : next best part of the package... love that light weight rear seat cowl! Looks better in real life than in the photos too.

Engine: still rough as its running in but seems to be willing to get up and boogie. EFI is a bit twitchy down low but I have a cunning plan to deal with that! (watch for weasel tails)

Tyres: meeah... dunlop 207's, not my fav. Looking at swapping for my confidence inspiring Pirelli supercorsa/dragon combo for not too much $$ (cause I have sod all now!). At least the gold wheels look right horny!

ahh i can sleep happy tonight!

What did it cost ya to insure it?

    To All:
Does anyone's insurance cover Track days?
If while at a track day, some "Unfortunate soul" (Idiot didn't seem to be the right word, as it may be ME one day!), loses his bike down the track, and takes you and yours out as well, what's the protocol on paying for damage. Do you expect Me to hand you a signed blank cheque, or do you accept that that is just one of the pitfalls of track/Race days on a new expensive bike?
Feel free to move this to an appropriate thread if best.

Very Nice CK - I saw you outside MT Eden MC yesterday and the bike looked great. (Stalker)

By the way you lauched off down the road, I'd say your getting the hang of the power pretty quick!!

The EFI issue you mentioned, would that be getting fixed via a Power Commander by chance ???
    Not even with yours!!!

Good luck finding anyone to insure you on the track for a reasonable price that makes it worth while.

As for taking someone out??  Shit.....I think worrying about who was going to pay for what would be the least of the 'offending riders' worries should that take me out.

you are indeed a stalker cause you weren't on the duck! (at least I couldn't hear you!)

The power difference is mostly in where it turns up. The 6R has two real kicks at 8000 and 10,000 where the G6 is much more linear.

No power commander, I'm really really broke now... so broke I'm going to have to flag thisrace round. I can't afford crash bungs/back protector/licence fee and entry fee and the replacement pirelli's I want to put on (BUGGER!). What I'll be using is a TRE or (Timing Retard Eliminator) to sort the 1/2 throttle map out. Its basically a plug and play unit and at $170 its a bargain. But again.. it'll have to wait.

One more thing I noticed this morning is that its got a Real arse-about-the-ears-riding position! It makes sense in the corners but its a literal pain in the  neck (and wrists and back) on the motorway. Time to get fit!

Very nice CK!!!  Great bike for a great price!!  When I saw those bikes in the brochure I thought it would be the perfect machine for an F2 racer - glad someone I know has taken advantage of it!

I also spent many hours calculating my finances and the entertaining the possibility of buying one of those specials (I was tossing up on a new hayabusa for the summer ) but in the end reason won over and the "saving for a house" fund survives another day
