Well after all that Nighhawk and I ended p going and staying the night.

Smallish turnout, many exploits too horrible to speak about, and I took no photos so no proof of anything.
Come and ride the Southern Roads with us.

All in all, I thought it went well. I have a high quality coffee coloured pillowcase recovered from "C" block.(The lifers' wing.)

Also a vintage Motorola cell phone.

PM me if either of them are yours.

Indeed. Thanks for all your work doing the organising. Getting the road swept for us all was a nice touch.

I got home an hour ago. Pics tomorrow sometime.

A big thanks from me Daffyd ... for all your help ... for those that needed extra help too ...

I can assure you KP ... you did not slow us down. On our own if you were not there, we would not have traveled much faster ...

Might put a few pics up later ...

Well, another KB gathering done and dusted, great venue, great roads, great weather, great scenery and great people.

Great to see all those friends and catch up with the goss - it's a shame it's 12 months between meetings for some - hey, speaking of meeting, where are we going to have the next KB gathering??

BTW: I took the XN (and had a blast on those twisties), it developed a high frequency 'buzz' or vibration at over 5,000rpm but I THINK I know the likely cause - got back to Chez Scumdog to find the left bar-weight all set to go AWOL, hanging by a few threads of the through-bolt.
    Sorted.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I feel a bit guilty; thanks must also go to Scumdog and normajeane...without their input (and help)I wouldn't have done nearly as well. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

Big thanks to the organising peoples, you did a great job sorting out a great venue.

Mint ride down friday via the scenic and somewhat deviating route, particularly fun roads out the back of oamaru that i haven't been through for at least 20 years, pretty good weather and dry except for a bit of rain in omarama while we were inside having lunch.

A great couple of nights catching up with some old faces and meeting some new ones, a few quiet drinkies and a few more noisy ones. Nice little tiki tour down to the caves on saturday, although someone could have mentioned the half hour walk to get there so I could stick my shorts in, motorbike pants are definately not designed for that carry on. Yummy lunch at the diner, and equally yummy bbq for dinner, and I actually made it to bed at a presentable hour.

Lovely day today for the ride home by a slightly more direct but still deviating route, after stopping in for a wee visit in dunedin on the way past. Bike went great all weekend except for one little issue that left me sitting in the middle of the waitaki bridge but after a loooong push the helpful guy at the glenavy garage took a break from working on his camaro to find some tools so I could sort it.

All up a pretty damn good weekend, about 1500k's on the bike on some really good roads, and a few more stories in what's left of the memory bank. Will see if I have any decent pic's once I extract them from my phone.

Must be time to start thinking about the next one
