It's actually uphill going up to the point, then the road crests and goes back downhill whilst going through the left hander. I was shortshifting 4th just before the crest and holding the gas on over it hence the wheelie. Later on in the weekend when I did the 2.09 I managed to get it to hold the front up till over the bridge, so I missed that bump with the front wheel.
Sorry to bump the thread from so far down, but...

Do you play with the clutch at all when you're backing it into corners? Obviously you're not completely locked up, but when ever i get to the point that the back comes out a little the engine seems to keep pushing the back wheel, so going from chattering to sliding out a little bit is pretty dramatic... I'm sure its just because I'm a noob, but going from the back nicely sliding in (and I'm talking really small compared to the vid of you on the zx6 at the cliffhanger) to gripping quite hard seems not quite right

They do grip up hard. It's a really fine balance of the rear brake, not to skid, but to maintain control. You also need a load of front brake. On a bike with a slipper clutch, you just drop it and it gives you a certain amount of engine brake and no more, so you are away laughing, just need the rear brake to modulate the slide, along with the front brake controlling the weight on the rear. Without a slipper clutch (or a badly set up one) you need to be your own slipper clutch with your clutch hand, modulating and controlling it - you can't just let it go cos you get chatter, or a bike slide then completly gripping the rear end up as the wheel speed catches up. Basically, your clutch becomes another rear brake, so you are balancing both your rear brakes, plus the front to set the amount of weight that is on the rear, and then your body position and steering inputs as to how big the slide is. Simple as!

This looks like an absolute hoot.
Does anyone know when entries start. The download does not seem to operate.

Its a hoot allright. The site is in the process of being upgraded, as are the entry forms.

I will post a new thread once the entry form and fliers are ready.

I'd say it will be a case of pre entering required as it was extremely popular last year and there will be a limit on entry numbers.

Would you be entering your scambler in the Motard class ?
