    Engineering shop in Auckland?

I've tried a search but not had much luck.

Can anyone recommend a small engineering shop in Auckland (preferably around Glenfield, where I work) that can help with getting out a stuck bolt?

It's fairly easily accessible and I think can be removed by welding on a hex nut and using that for removal - the internal allen key fitting is just rounding off (even with a good git and decent tools).

    Cheers, Rob.

What you need is an 'easy out' - it's a tool for removing munted bolts.

I've got easy outs - not suitable in this case, the thing is in too tight, I suspect the easy out will just shatter leaving me with a bolt filled with hardened metal which is a REAL bitch to drill out and remove. Been there, not fun.

Thanks very much for the offer - I actually managed to come good with judicious application of a propane torch and extreme force!

I may still seek out the engineering shop to rebuild my original side stand - the alloy probably needs sleeving.

    Cheers, Rob.

Just a quick follow up on this - ended up getting my side stand rebushed by the guys at Select engineering. Not cheap but came in at less than what they quoted and they did a great job, highly recomended.
