Not just for trucks man, giving the gas a wee poke while the clutch is pulled is good practice on most bikes, unless its a 2 smoke or a race machine with a sliiper clutch..

I had a very quick look at the bike after the crash as I was passing by when it was leaning up against a fence and it looked pretty fucked to me. I'm sure the front wheel was moved back a fair bit from where it's supposed to be.
