Err, Caterham 500 is actually pretty quick, and the the Duc 'Tard isn't reeeeely a superbike.

I fully expect there scads of cars that will toast my little 650 in a straight line, but I haven't had one try yet.

It might not look that way when you pick a track that dramatically suits a car over a bike, or put what is basically a racing car against a motard, but they are "as quick as everyone thinks". The so called ultimate tests that put formula one cars against SBK bikes, or run what is fairly obviously biased for a car magazine, don't exactly come to any conclusion. I could easily find a track that would have the GTR left in the dust from that link you just posted, they only reason the 1098 lost is because of the track

No the tard lost because it was slower. The superlite is a sports car and a 50 year old design at that. As far as the 1098 goes, how could a bike that has 900 hp/tonne loose against a 4 seat saloon car that has 300hp/tonne?
