Road report for you, Came back from Mapua yesterday and there was road works every 5-10km through the Lewis.
They were all sign posted & you will see them start 10km after the Hanmer turn off. (One singe lane works just after the Hurunui pub as well).

For those going via Arthur's Pass, theres roadworks at the Pound Rd intersection on YaldhurstRd/SH73. As of this arvo, theres still two lanes but speed is down to 30km
