Got home in good time (despite Otaki, next time we turn off and go the back way to the roundabout)

Got home, bugger all wind, warm so I thought I might head out for a sneaky fish and cap off a brill day, so whizzed down to the ocean for a look see. Cold, temp dropped windy grey horrid, came home, cooked dinner, drank beer, logged on to KB

Nice ride folks. Very pleasant company and a nice holiday pace .....

    Castlepoint next week?

    I though - I know that bike.....

I thought - I know that smell.... Good god - if I can recognise the whiff of your two stroke mix, are we in a relationship? If so - hide, Vicki wants a word...

But yes - it was very windy....

Hey - the GN was a sight to behold. Pootling along quite nicely. Well done.

Thanks all for a very nice day. Apart from nearly running a little dog over (which decided to gun it across the motorway), and losing my pack rack rain cover in the last 10 minutes of the ride, it was a lovely day.

Had no rain at all. In fact it only started to rain about 10 mins after I got home.

Thanks to Paul_in_NZ who knew the route (good it wasn't up to me as I'd be as lost as a whore's underwear in a brothel).

Took these snaps as we rumbled into various places. A highlight was visiting the whop-whop machines. They really are big when you are standing right under one.

Huff3r's GN250 was a sight to behold. I didn't realise the gold ol' GN250 has that much poke.

The only let down of the day was the wind. We didn't escape it for long and it pretty much beared down on us in all directions.

You were a great bunch to ride with. No heroics. It was a great pace. Thumbs up to Darryn for the great organisation. Lots of catchup places and we all got home safe. 430kms.

Thank you and well done to everyone. Big thanks to Dave for printing a map (who needs colour anyway) ;-p and big shout to Paul for some amazing back roads. Very impressed with the GN, especially in that wind.
    Top day out

Great to meet you all, hope i didnt slow anyone down too much. It was a good relaxed pace for me

I will keep my eye out on the threads in case you do another ride somewhere:

hopw harley boy made it home with out too much drama
Don't let anyone from the hate harley brigade see that photo of everyone crowding around looking at one will you !!
Hate it when ya see a ride thread at the end of the ride !!
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Don't you mean Darrens pink drink? Apparently the poor cameras been through the wars so isn't particularly good with colours

And remember, its the banana milkshake that gives the GN and rider it's speed
    Yeah, nah.

Hey Carla, I don't see any pink in the photo... Are you sure you haven't started drinking down at the beach already? Right you are Carla, as Paul mentioned, the camera is on the blink. Takes some weird psychadelic shots at times.

Banana milkshakes are highly recommended. Not only do they give you riding prowess, they also help numb bum too.

The harley was apparently an ex cop bike from California.

We did our best to get it moving. Darryn threatened it by saying it's owner should sell and go jappa. Paul sussed the electrics. The owner suspected a seized motor. Maybe being an ex-cop bike, it was used to seizing other vehicles so decided to try one on itself.
