I'm after some new forks and probably triple clamps for Rangi, so if these "new front end plans" of yours Rich involve getting rid of yours I call "BAGS"!!!

I think Steve D. came the closest to that result at Ohakea (1st 50cc & 2nd 100cc? on Rams old nail) about 100 years ago when you had to do more than 5 laps to be a national Champ.[/QUOTE]

it would have been nice to have 55 laps....
    or 1hr plus 5 laps....

but there is a wisper... just a wisper that there may just be something in the very... early (VERY EARLY) planing stage of something happening at manfeild......
at the moment my lips are well and truly sealed...

but IF.... IF there was something at manfeild (using the shorter club curcit in reverse?) that was going to last, oh, lets say 2hrs, who would be keen???

    is that too short/long a time/track/direction?

    i know i would have to re-fuel..lol

just a thought at this stage.....

    what a ride so far!!!!

It needs to be more than a kart track and should have a straight long enough to tap out any bucket in top gear, some heavy rear wheel in the air brakeing and a (at least) 4th gear flatout knee-down sweeper. I think 2 hours is way too long, that is an endurance race. The old GP's at Ohakea were about 40 laps totaling about 50 minutes, a long sprint race that (usually) required fast, well sorted, good handeling bike with a fit rider. The Taupo venue would be perfect if the race was atleast 30 laps, 40-50 minutes.
    Just my thoughts...

Now you're cooking with gas. One of them would be the GP.
Someone told me the hamilton kart track is a good one too.

Ruapuna's Tri Oval or B track seem to fit the bill then

Manfeild for a GP would be great or any bucket racing again for that matter, so keen as.
What about the back section, like old times (suzuki series 90's); 40-50min around there would be a challange.
I'd happily lend a hand if you need any help.

    .

Last year the 3 hour was on a third day this year the program was compressed to two days. Time and crashes cut the GP's short this year.

And then there were those who held things up by not going to their allocated grid positions. Grids were clearly marked, there can't be any excuses for not knowing your position and any confusion on the start line.

And then there are the smart arses, in the GP line up John Stear had sneaked forward several rows to pinch Avalons grid position but her quick reactions at the start had her going past the sneak thief as the flag dropped.

John there is a reasion that your grid position was allocated towards the back of the field.

ok, the reason the back section is not used at the same time as the other racing is the fact we would need to double up on everything (clerk or course, MNZ rep, ambo) PLUS the cost of the hire, will put it out of the reach for us, to use JUST the back part???
cost, etc plu man power.. as all those who want it there also want to race...

but if we can arrange it the same time on the same track as the other bigger "faster" bikes... albeit a shorter track (club )... like we did during the lunch break this year..... (same one the moto boys used...)

what i want is for everyone to post or/and PM me, so i can take this to one of our club meetings and present a case......

so who is interested, we would use the same flagies and officals so no extra cost...(would need a MNZ licence/day licence)

    what a ride so far!!!!

So what would the cost for the day be AJ? Not including day licence.
