    Pan's Labyrynth

Anyone seen this? Bit dark. Set in the Spanish Civil War well at the end of it.

Saw it at the cinema, good movie. I was surprised to find out that the same director directed Hell Boy.

And will be directing The Hobbit.

I had mixed feelings about it. On one level the fantasy set alongside the brutality of the civil war was a bit off putting for my tasts. The son getting killed and the torture scene I found a bit gory. Still all in all one of the better movies I've seen in a long time.

If you liked that check out Everything is Illuminated.

Another dark movie singularly lacking in redemption for the protagonists.

    It is brutal. Great movie.
