HELP! Wife down in CHCH this weekend, needs car

Hey all, my wife (Janiebella) is flying down to Christchurch this weekend as she has a friend who has terminal cancer. She has been looking at hiring a car but they all seem so farkin expensive (we are tight arses).

Does any one know of a cheap hire place in christchurch, or does anyone have a car she could borrow for a few days.

Any help would be appreciated, Bren

I have done an internet search of hire places, and most places are fully booked out over that period...

if she can get hold of a bus timetable, they are pretty good. ive used them when down for the burt munro and being unable to face a day on the bike, but wanting to see the sights. they should have timetables/routes at the airport.

    best of luck!

the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.

When does she arrive? I don't use my car much. She'd have to drive me back to Rangiora though.

Also when does she leave again?

If she was arriving/leaving while I was at work I wouldn't be able to pick her up and drop her back to the airport.

    Does that make sense?
