    Stolen bike threads.

    Just a thought,
Is it worth having a Stolen Bikes, forum please Mods, somewhere that a sticky can be put up on the Hows of Bike Security, and equipment available.
And some where for those who are unfortunate enough to have a bike stolen can start a thread with info about their bike.
and if caught and prosecuted bike theves can be named and shamed.

Can we make a Yet-To-Be-Stolen thread so we know which ones are still up for grabs?

That is a fantastic idea, I like your thinking. Only thing is being able to gather names of bike thieves. It would be good to have names and photo's so we can throw tomatoes at them if we see the dirt walking down the street.

We really need a database that can be searched, complete with VIN numbers etc etc. This could be a resource for any organisations including the feds.

"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

Why would we have it just on here then? IIRC there is already a site that you could register your stolen vehicles, can't remember where it was though.

I like the idea of a data base, the spotter site seems to be more for vechicles that are registered, so a little harder to register your stolen MX bike. or old bush basher of a trail bike.
So I was thinking that you would post a couple of pics of your bike, Frame No, Engine No, REG No if applicable, distiguishing features, rips in seat, dents in tank, shiney bling bits etc, approx value of your bike, market value, Do you have your bike microdotted?.
