Got to have some major work done on my hysong 650 gear box and it's gonna cost $$$! Mechanics quoted me $85 per hour for about 22 hrs work + parts. Just wondered if there was anyone here who knows what they're doing and wants to earn some extra cash. I'm not after a favour and I'm willing to pay a reasonable rate, just not the $85 per hour they are trying to charge me. If I charged my customers that I would never get any work!

He obviously doesn't want the work that badly. Sorry, but $85/hr is something a mechanic would quote if he actually didn't know what he was doing, and had to sub-contract it out to someone who did.
And 22 hours to do a gearbox? I can pull apart and put back together a 1300hp aircraft engine quicker than that.
Buy this one, part yours out, and pocket the difference. at $2k + parts, you'll sink $4k into yours...
