We usually do it first 120 through the gate and then that's it - otherwise we could end up with say 30 in the fast session immediately and only 5 in the slow and no more slow group riders turn up, meaning another 25 riders in other groups would potentially miss out. If we get a large number in say the medium group (which is what often happens), it would be split into two sessions.

As for switching groups throughout the day, I assume you mean we run a slow, then a medium, then a fast, then a race and so on during the day rather than riders switching between groups? We do allow you to change from one class to another ONCE - so if you get in a slow or medium session and find it's too slow for you, we are happy to allow you to move up a class - or down if you find the one you're in is too fast for you. What we do NOT allow is for riders to go out in a medium then whip back into the pits and line up for a fast or race session. We DO keep an eye on this and anyone trying to get around this rule could find themselves asked to leave - with no refund either!

Scrutineering starts FROM 8.30am. We do NOT welcome riders turning up any earlier than that while we are trying to organise our members and volunteers. If you DO arrive before 8.30am, please be aware we will NOT deal with you or your bike BEFORE 8.30am and you will be standing around waiting.

Its all good. I dont do as many trackdyas as I would like to so like to start in med group to get used to the track agian and then do the fast group in the arvo if the weathers good. (mainly cause I am incredibly shite rider in the wet)
but last year we were lining up for the med group when the fast group was being called up and still missing out and being thown back to the slow group. Have to practice the getting gear on and getting to the dummy grid faster.

I can't argue about the value and sheer amount of hard work you guys & gals put in organising this

    BUT

So let me get this right. I've to risk a 5.5 hour drive, not arrive too early but I'll be told to fuck off if I'm not one of the first 120 bikes.

I would have thought after the chaos last year with so many bikes on the track that you'd be taking pre-bookings this time?

Why not take the $50 bucks and then if a rider isn't there by 9.30 give their place away?

its fine, as long as your within the first 180 bikes that show up.

Sign on and scrutineering starts at 8.30am. You can arrive early but please DO NOT come and hassle us to take your entry then. As explained many times, it's $50 and first in, first served. We do not want to go down the route of prebooking again - the years we did, we only got about 20 bookings in advance and it wasn't worth the extra effort on our part. Most people wait to see what the weather is doing on the day.

You guys do a great job . I personally prefer the way you don't pre book and for that reason I flag attending any other trackdays.
As far as the weather is concerned, apart from a couple of years when I was younger and found I was ok in the rain, I have grown to hate the stuff as far as bikes are concerned. G.

Did the March session last, I must have be one the last in...good fun.

I'm going to rnd 2 of the Pacific in a couple of weeks, any chance of a session or area for practise starts? given the history of fast bikes and stationary bikes on the start line.

Sorry but we have enough on our plates with trying to keep an eye on the track, pit lane and the dummy grid without trying to organise practice starts. No matter how many sessions we manage to fit in during the day there are always people who want more, so timewise it wouldn't be possible either. I'm afraid you'll have to get your practice on the grid and track along with the others.

It's designed as a track day for people with road bikes and the fact we let race bikes in is incidental. We do NOT operate the race sessions as a race - they are called that to indicate they are for race bikes only - so we would not be interested in having participants practice their race starts in any case.
