Need a good ride for today (3 Jan), please help (Auck)

Got a lady friend of mine wanting to take a nice ride on the back of the Triumph somewhere near Auckland with a destination.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Patumahoe Bar and Grill, Patumahoe Franklin South Auckland. Go down motorway, take Drury exit, right at Caltex service station, left up Ostrich Road, through some windy roads, and when you get to the end of the road, Bingo there it is.

What kind of destination? Maraetai beach is always a nice spot for a coffee; Whatipu beach is nice for a walk (black sand though from memory); the light house at Awhitu is a great ride too.

    Which part of Auckland?

If North Island, Wenderholm is a national park and nice beach. Couple of bush walks there as well if your are keen, and a historic old building.

Hokey doke then iceberg2 - yes, you're a bit far from Aucks to be the kind of destination DMCD probably was after but you can shake hands with him over your wheels!

Thanks guys, I ended up taking the lovely lady to Piha beach which was a nice ride, we stopped at the lookout, then went to the Elevation Cafe for lunch.
Went the wrong way home which I cleverly disguised as a scenic route.

It is a nice blat. Good roads, no roadworks, as of last weekend. Roads are nice and twisty, if you go via kemp road, watch out. There are some nasty corners, and the road is really narrow. Have fun..
