14th May '05 - KB ride for all down SH22

An option might be to take the enclosed route on the way down. It is windy but not hilly & the roads are in better nick than SH22. There is very little other traffic.
The full "loop" ( as shown returning via SH22 )from the Papakura Roadhouse back to the Roadhouse is 300kms.

Cheers for the input but there is just one problem...

THIS IS A SH22 RIDE! This isn't a newbie specific ride or a ride for newbies in particular. If they wish to join us, that is fine. They will be in good hands. However this ride is for everyone to enjoy the great roads through SH22. Thus the ride will not be modified to better suit a certain group of people who are out numbered by the rest (For this ride).

I dont mind cruisin along towards the rear for a while, 'specially as I will be kinda running in my bike after some more major "surgery" on it.

OK, something needs to be made clear here. I do like helping out people and I hate crashes just as much as the next person. However, I am only offering my help for part of the ride for a few newbies cause at the end of the day I am there to have fun as well. Specially since road rides are very rare for me (less than 1ce a month). If other people who come are happy to help out with being a guide for the guys at the back, then great! You guys can take turns etc.

I'm quite happy to pitch in and lead the newbies for 1/4 to 1/3 of 22. I'm sure a few of us can share the responsability no probs. We'll sort it out on the day, see who turns up? Right MR?

Yep I'm keen again if the weather's a-ok. Will be keen to meet up at Cycletreads BPR like last time. Wonder how many will be coming to this one? Might have to book out the whole of the carpark at Papakura if it's anything like last time :-p

The daily commute into Auckland from Manukau to get to Uni. Panmure roundabout both ways 3x a week. 8km of night riding each week due to youth group. ~900km/month for the past 3 months.

EDIT: Scratch that I just checked the speedo, I've done 3000km in the past 2 months.

Gome and join in mate or you will read the threads after the ride and kick your self. Just ride to your skill level and you will enjoy it.{ trust me }

not sure if I can make this one. Nothing to do with the sale (I'd be riding that back tyre off if I could), but I have forced commitments for the weekend that I can't re-arrange. So have to duck out on this.
