LT80 oil pump

Sorry guys my memorys a bit hazey. Jorja's LT80 oil feed line is a bit holey at the mo.As a temp measure I figured Ill just run the bike on 40/1 pre mix till I can sort it out. (bikes in the bush at mangawhai)
Then this morning I got the cold sweats wondering about the oil pump seals.
Do they need the two stroke oil in/around them as lubrication? I don't reallty want to be getting into oil pump rebuilds/replacements

Well the pump will be pumping dry,although whats there would probably do for a short time....but ultimately the pump will die.I don't know about that engine,but a lot of Suzuki 2 strokes had an oil feed to the left main,and then an oil slinger caught that oil and fed it into the big end.Pre mix will kill those engines.
