I did my CBT in Carshalton, can't remember the name of the outfit, but was with a couple of other people.

My old daily ride was this:

Started Croydon > Waddon > Merton > Wimbledon > Putney > Hammersmith > Shepards Bush > Notting Hill. Total time was about 45 minutes on a good day. A bad day with traffic heavy and rain was about 1 hour. The train journey each way was 1 1/2 hours - on a good day!

The home brew has been very good so far. I have done about 8 brews now. All from Hauraki which is now in Albany. I brewed 60 litres of lager last winter, which I am now enjoying now. Summer time I brew Indian Pale Ale, which is stunning! My next brew will be a Bock Beer, which is a german style darker lager. Very easy to do. Blend in the hops with the yeast with about 20 litres of cold water, add in 1 kg of dexstrose. Wait about 2 weeks. Bottle afterwards, and add a touch more sugar. Leave for 8 weeks. Enjoy. Costs is very cheap - I pay about $20 for the brew, and about $4 for the sugar. So about $24 for 22 litres of beer. Can't complain!

    I'm in Grey Lynn.

I lived in Upper Norwood for a bit but my main stomping ground was Hammersmith / Bush, lived there most of my life. A bike is the only way to get round London in any kind of sensible time as far as I'm concerned.

I've tried to do the home brew thing twice and both times it was just disgusting, totally undrinkable.

The NASS thing that p.dath mentioned is really good by all account's. I've only managed to get to it once because I work crud hours but would get along to it a lot more if I could.
