    Wanted to swap

i have a pretty mint vf1000, its had the forks rebuilt and ill rebuild the rear shock has been changed to a conventional spring type showa instead of the crappy air/oil shock , it has aftermarket exhausts and the standard ones in perfect condition, it comes with a spare corbain style spare seat,
if youve done any reserch on vf1000's you'll hear that the american model suffered from soft cams,
    fortunatly the nz/aus model didnt.
although i had to get the rocker arms re-surfaced 2000km ago when i did the valve clearances,
the top end was all good apart from that,
i have rebuilt the carbs, and will give them a balance before any sort of swap occurs,

    basically she's a beutiful bike and a part of honda's v4 history

basically i want to do a swap for.... well any number of bikes
cosmetic condition not really an issue,
as long as it has rego (or rego on hold) and the bike runs nicely then i don't mind

1 R series beemer (boxer or nothing)
2 a guzzi california 11 possibly others (looks depending)
    3 a big muscle bike.. gsx1400, cb1300, bandit 12, xjr1100/1200 ect ect a harley isn't a muscle bike
4 possibly a oil boiler suzuki
    5 possibly a sv1000 tll1000 vtr1000 ect
    possibly a tdm850/900 a 1000cc streetfighter, a triumph (old or new)
    or a big naked,

anything that is a bit different to your usual, my ideal bike would be a mz1000sf, but i doubt any made it into new zealand

im not really interested in any sort of ducati, not that i think any ducati owner would want to swap,
but they are just too small for my 6'4" frame

if you are interested, send me a pm there should be a few pics in my albums, at some stage ill take her out for a blast and get some more pics

    cheers

lol, they are the only ones i have of it good ole tagorama, i barely ride it, at the moment it has a layer of dust on it
i bought it mainly because it was my dream bike since i was a kid.
but the reality is i mainly ride the mz500 as that suits my riding style alot more,
i think the longest trip ive done on it is taupo to hamilton and back, and since then its just been the odd tag and a wee mindless doodle on nice afternoons, its so mint i don't really want to drop it,

i think i'd rather have bikes that are a bit rough around the edges,
if you want to have a blast on the vf then let me know, or if you want a loan of it for a few days, it would probably do the bike good to get a good thrashing

lol, i have to sort this damn rear shock first, its a danger to ride at the moment,
damn honda and there 80's technology using stupid air/oil shock with no spring
what the hell were they thinking,
but you can definitly have a thrash when i sort that, she is a joy to ride, and probably one of the most comfyest bikes ive owned

hmmm no one keen on a swap for something??
might also consider a supermoto or big trailie (road registered)
    or possibly a sports bike/tourer

as i said, im after something thats a little different from the usual, im not to fussed about the cosmetic condition, as long as it runs well
