    Hello to all (Eyegasm)

Oh man dont ya just hate these intro blurbs...

    well heres mine.

Names Clint, Live in Wainuiomata, been riding for x, just purchased my first bike (Not new)
and crashed it 4 days later!!! Going down the Wainuiomata hill and the front brake lever
snaps off just before entering a corner, I manage to get it down to 40kph
when it decided to buck me into a wall.

Lever and mirror replaced by the excellent team at Red Baron Lower Hutt, and she has been golden ever since - Plus during the crash I added nice white racing stripes to the fairing!!! (Red and black 2 tone)

I wasn't so lucky, broke 2 ribs and they take longer to fix.

Well that is all for now, Say welcome and I'll see you all out there.

    Cheers

Don't mess with Clint. Doesn't know his own strength. Snapped a lever straight off.

Don't be the punk that makes his day.

It will have been the silver adjustable lever. What happens with them, is some gonk drops the bike and cracks the lever, and then sells the bike to some unsuspecting person who hauls on the brakes and pulls the lever in two. The problem is, you can't see the crack unless you get down underneath and inspect it fully. This should have been a WOF check item.

I found a cracked lever like this on my sons' GT250R and took his keys until I fixed it.

You can also take the silver adjustable lever off and fit a spacer with the much more solid black lever, and that takes away a lot of the problem.

Everyone, regardless of bike, should regularly conduct a detailed inspection of their brake lever, particularly after even a minor tip.

Anyway bro, welcome to KB. Lotsa hyos on here. I got five of them lol. (selling one 250.)

"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."
