I'd noticed the different helmet thing, mainly because watching the race, initially I was having problems sussing out which Telefonica rider was which - perhaps the Nolan's visor is nowhere near as efficient as the Shoei in the wet?

Mind you, Barry Sheene did something similar (but covert) years ago. Sheene was supposed to be wearing a Bell if memory serves correctly. Then at one meeting, his visor was damaged... oddly enough, no Bell visor would fit his helmet. Sheene might have been sponsored by them, but he certainly didn't wear their kit! Simple respray and re-sticker job, which was shown as a sham as soon as he had a problem...

Being a Nolan owner, and having owned Shoei's in the past I would be surprised if that were the case.

However looking at the Shoei it has a pinlock type anti fogging insert, just like a Nolan.

Maybe the Shoei has been "Barry Sheened"

A pic of rossi on my desktop taken from the shanghai race is showing he has doubled up on the knee sliders too. Perhaps its so they know when they touch the knee in the wet, they are not as cranked over as they think?

It's exactly the reason. I'm surprised they don't make double height pucks.

aye, seems odd to attached a knee slider on a slider and run the risk of them flying off. The explanation makes perfect sense though. Good pics Gav!
