Michelin Power Pure

For fans of Bibendum there appears to be a new light tyre on the horizon.

It's intended to be superior to the Pilot Power 2CT. It wasn't mentioned on the Michelin website when I checked, so it might be a bit soon to rush to your usual supplier.

i have a zx10r and never bought tyres here in NZ yet. only had the bike 6 mnths. it has conti race attack tyres on it at the mo. is there a website to get pricing of tyres here in NZ?

I got asked if I wanted to throw them on the bike instead of the 2ct (when it arrives). They said they wanted more people to ride them so they can get an opinion out there. I decided I'd stick to the 2cts as I'm not going to need all the tyre. The lightness I was swaying towards but I have a thing about have channels right to the edges. Pure's don't have them. From several people I've heard that have swapped out their 2cts for the pure, they love them. I've heard no one not like them so far. They say there's heaps more feel and response. Of course, since I haven't ridden them I can't vouch for them.

I suppose if you like Miccies to start with and like the 2cts, you'll dig the Pures more. If I was doing track days more I would personally grab them. Dunno, I may still put them on the bike.

Got some put on my new 675 Daytona which was delivered last Weds by Anza.
I got the Pirellis removed and swapped before I got it. I've always had Miches.

I did 300 plus kms on Sat up the Wairoa rd and about.
I would rate them as the best tyres I've ever ridden on. I did'nt go easy on them, did'nt 'scrub' them in, just on and go.
Not a slide, nothing bad, and grip.
The grip was as good as the Pope on an alter boy.
Gave total confidence.
And we hit a torrentail downpour that gave 0 visibilty for a while and there were no issues, but I did slow a lot.

I've always had PR2CT and lately Power 2CT and IMO they out perform them easy.
As for tyre life........dunno........prob not a lot. Look ok after 300 plus kms, but the 675 is'nt a heavy bike.
I intend to use the 675 mainly for trackdays more than road so tyre life is'nt an issue with me.
But then again, it's so damn fun on the road with this new thingy.

Cheers Dooly, truth is i've already ordered a set but i'm trying to get a feel for what to expect when I finally put them on which won't be for a while yet, sounding to me like they'll be worth the wait but it'll have to wait until I wear out the Pirelli Angel ST's i'm running at the moment.
Congrats on the 675, is it a new one? What colour is it? Sell one of ya other bikes and have one for the track and one for the road, problem solved.

I will probably post my thoughts on them once they have been on a while, we'll see how they go with a big heavy guy on a big heavy bike with a reasonable amount of grunt, in the back of my mind i'm expecting them to disappear pretty quickly but it'll be interesting for sure as the new suspension will hopefully optimize tyre wear to a certain degree.

Sold my Yellow 955, still got the Ducati, and a CB900 Boldor 80.
