I will drink one (maybe two) wines over several hours and drive my car. If I'm on the bike I stick to non alcoholic drinks only.
Most of the people I have ridden with will have only one beer maximum, but a lot of the time, they too, have only non alcoholic drinks.
Mind you, I do tend to only hang around sensible old farts like myself.....

A guy who used to ride with us, regularly told me I should have 2 or 3 beers and a joint before I got on the bike...would help relax me, he reckoned. Don't ride with him anymore....funny that.....

Nothing like a few lines of charlie before a ride, or so I've been told.

In the Uk you can be done for being drunk in charge of a pushchair, not sure if it has to have a child in it though

I'd be a hypocrite if I said I've never ridden a bike on the road after having at least one too many also unfortunately. Luckily for me, I managed to stay upright and not hurt anyone. Those days are well gone now since realizing the risk I was taking.
Young and stupid, right? We've all been there and done dumb shit and those kids outside the Tauranga courthouse were prime examples. I doubt, back in the day, we were any different, we had all the answers, were bold as brass and didn't really give a toss about the consequences of our actions. Sure, some do but most don't. As you get closer to understanding your own mortality so you empathise with that of others; it's just sad that so many don't get there.

See that point, however the One News article about these fucking idiots did say that young people today have grown up with the 'dont drink and drive' message so should get it. These people are simply the generation where noone has to be made feel responsible for their actions. Their 'like and stuff' attitude to life is fucked. I did lots of crazy shit when I was young, for fuck sake, I was playing in bands at 15, bunking off school to play some dingy club in some didgy part of some dodgy town but I never, ever, ever did anything that could endanger the life of another person.

Drink driving does this, those cunts in Tauranga and everywhere else all over the world need to be given a serious punishment for doing what they did. Sometimes I cave in and thiink that, well, first offence and all that but some of these had been up for the 3rd or 4th time....

...and the older generation are just as bad.....it's not just the kids.....

ALL DRINK DRIVERS ARE FUCKING ARSEHOLES....THERE IS NO EXCUSE, NO LET OFF, NO REASON FOR IT

I'm not usually so wound up over an issue but I fucking hate them and those that try and find excuses for them are nearly as bad. They should make all these wankers go for a walk around an A&E dept on a Saturday night or maybe the morge on Sunday morning...then let them see the families of their victims....then lock the cunts up and throw away the fucking key.....

    Apologies again for the langauge.....

I love a pint of ale.

Especially smack bang in the middle of a ride, God bless the pub.
