Ridge Run 10 Jan 2010

Hey everyone,

so my son has been hounding me to take him on a "Ridge Run" but he hasn't had all the gear so I've said no....up till now....Well, his pants arrived yesterday and he got boots for Christmas so I guess I don't have any excuses now....So off we go!

Meet up at the bottom of the Haywards hill (Hutt side) in the gravel carpark at 12:30pm. Head to Martinborough for coffee/eats with the usual headcounts at the summit and in Featherston....May do the Western Lakes route as it's a good ride.

Note, that this is weather permitting as the forecast's not looking flash at the mo. I will update on Saturday but at this stage it's on.

This ride is "learner" friendly just make sure you ride your own ride.

checked the Metservice report for tomorrow....Fine with late rain. Northwesterly gales. Same for Masterton and Wellington.

I personally don't mind a bit of wind so will still be going despite this. Any keen punters welcome to meet up.

No worries Paul. I'm the opposite....hate riding in rain but don't mind the wind. (cos i'll melt in the rain!)

Dunno who's going to turn up. I know StoneY's coming and I'm doing it so guess we'll just see who's at the Haywards meet up. Can't get hold of Hawkeye so don't know what he's doin.

wind was not too bad, coming home was a little average though... flats coming out of martinbourgh i was going 100 but the wind made it feel over 200!

Good to meet you (finally) Aer0....shame you had to take one for the team though. Must admit, it was a wee bit dodgy on the way home over the hill. Still, a good blat and meet up. As always, good to see you AJ and Quasi, and nice to meet you too Dennis.
