Best public toilet in the country?

Had reason to avail myself of a public loo the other day.
    South end of Otaki.
It was hilarious. Never, NEVER have I had a toilet talk to me!

Nice mans voice telling me I had 10 minutes before the door unlocked. Honestly, no pressure dude, but 10 minutes? and what happens if I need longer?

NO clock to tell how long I'd been inthere, DO i get a warning before the event or does it just fling open to reveal all?

It occurs to me that I could compile a list of 'must see' loos and arrange a road trip that would allow me to visit them all. COuld be a book in the making?

What toilets need to be on the list and why do you recommend them?
Do you have any memorable public loo moments?

I have one that involved a flatmate and a large amount of alcohol...

Well you'd have to add the Hundertwasser toilets in Kawakawa. World famous they are.

The same speaking toilets are at Albany as well.

They also close at daily intervals and clean themselves...somehow!

There are some public loo's in Balclutha that you don't even need to use your hands to do anything, well apart from wipe your butt or shaking the lizard. All done with sensors, so wave your hand here and soap comes out, wave your hands there and the water starts running, etc, etc, same with entry and exit. And apparently self cleaning, shame it didn't remove the graffiti too.....

Last week I had occasion to use the Hunterwasser toilet in Kawakawa. I had to wait for a bus load of tourists cleared the place. They were just admiring it. It is a huge tourist attraction well worth a visit. No straight lines to be seen, the floor is uneven. The roof is earth with plants growing on it. A wag got up there and planted a cannabis early on. He stopped my son from using a line when painting the plimsol line on his boat."Do it freehand I don't want any straight lines on my boat"

There are loads of trees in New Zealand. Do we really have to rate every single one?

The two that I rate ...not for there speech, cleanliness or Gizmos are the Doc toilet at the Hodder Huts in Marlborough and the one at the old Dart hut but I suspect it has been up graded since my last visit....But eith dunny you could sit on for ages door open and admire the views....no need for a stack of MC mags for entertainment.

The other memorable ones but not in NZ were the newly installed porcelain urinals in the public carpark in Launcston on the UK...needed to stand on Tippie toes and squirt upwards over the rim...I am not tall but that height?

And lastly the urinal at a resteraunt in cullen bay Darwin...one way glass mirror....you stand there having a pee facing out over the other diners feeling completey exposed

OMG...the one in Darwin sounds like a go! pity I don thave the equipment to use one standing up!

I like the sound of the fully automatic loos! could use one here at home, not much on housework and a teenage boy in residence...gross

what is it about boys that they feel the need to piss on the walls and up the seat?

The ones we used in some out-of-the-way place in California weren't that clean.
And their food wasn't too great. (Mind you, that's the first time I'd been to McD's in a very long time, and we only bought food because of the MutantTroglodyteSprogs...)
The ones in Wellington at Easter were marginally better, and the food was much better because we didn't buy any.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
