Fair weather rider
Most of the newer forks use a white delrin or whatever it is white plastic looking material. This stuff is good to go.
If it is actually plastic PVC tubing I would remove it and replace it with aluminum tubing.
The PVC eventually cracks and will block the valves and cause the forks to lock up.

Nah, this stuff had 'Nova something' stamped on the side, and roughly hacksawn ends. It was clearly PVC water pipe. I suggested that he might wish to seek professional advice before riding much further, but he was happy to just slap 'em back together.

Hear hear. When I replaced the fork seals in a mates F650 I discovered two 'spacers' made from rough sawn PVC conduit. They were different lengths too! Styley!!!
