I never thought this could happen to me!

Very good and thought provoking video by Bradford Council on riding safety

(apologies if it's a repost but I couldn't find it)

Sure makes you think about the necessity for full attention, riding to conditions and wearing proper gear.
Interesting that he also commented on the impact his accident had on his family as well as himself, and the "bulletproof"/"it will never happen to me" mentality.

A brave young man who has shared this as a lesson to others.

Interesting point made in the comments about those 'bollards'. You don't have to be speeding or at fault for them to be a danger to you - though it's good that they mentioned at least giving riding your full attention and wearing the right gear.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Shit video! Superbikes aren't 600 ccm. (Aside from that factual snafu it's all good though.)

Yep, no mention of the idiocy of putting rigid posts along the road which will increase the damage of most accidents - irregardless of what factors that cause the accident to happen.

Has no-one managed to ride a bike with a prosthetic leg btw? I know of several people who ride bikes with only one arm...
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

That's a very valid point! One would expect that one of the first things considered in placing such obstacles should be the impact, (literally), they would have should a vehicle strike them. The reason for them being there is not given, but considering the narrowness of the road and the proximity to the side of the road, they were always going to be a tragedy waiting to happen.
