I'm gonna come to the next rally on my pushi and get really pissed, say I'm a Scottish tourist and have no drivers licence at all. They may hit me for a fine for being pished in charge of a bicycle but they will never take my licence! Freedom!

The biggest bugbear about the whole thing was that they () would not test me & others when we went & asked them.... as I was unsure after 5ltrs red vino... got told to wait 12 hrs & eat something .... not that they're revenue collecting... great PR went back had breaky left at 1130 & a big fat 0 on their machine

on the hole I dont give a toss wether there's a BB at every rally, but at least test us if we ask... can the pc plods on here pass it on to their seniors cheers

Organising bikers is as easy as herding cats.
ummmmm. use 3 cops ,block off the road , make you wait over 30 min, use proper traffic control...not. ......to test near 3000 people . guess organising a decent checkpoint is harder.

    And then you'll get:

"what gives the pigs the right to come onto the rally site and expect people to blow into their gizmos....." kind of people making just that comment.

Or "I was in the Portaloo and missed out" waaa..

Or "I blew Failed Youth, woohoo, I'm under, I can have another drink"

Or "Test me, test me, I'm not riding but I just want to see if I'll pass"

    Ad infinitum, ad neauseum......

I also heard that the wallibie community is wishing to be extradited back to Aussie, they can not deal with such trauma from a man such as him.
Just one mistake in my 40 something years (and way less than 50) and will people let you forget it? No! What about all the good things I've done, do you remember those? You guys are harsh.

Just because you were wondering around like Johnny Nofriends last Saturday night doesn't mean you can poke your nose in!

Anyway, a great weekend. Two eventful nights, a brilliant ride to Tarras and back (love that Lindis Pass). Catching up with the usual rally whores, and all the other normal goings on. No worries on the testing of my breath, just a pain with the big delay (too bad). Sadly no photos - forgot the photography device, oops.

thats 'cops' please... and they cant 'expect' people to do anything... how ever those riders concerned about doing the right thing would huff n puff, what happens from there once out he gate is there own doing, at least they have the chance to do right.

    as above

My winge is the systems fucked, the time and money should be spent beter elswere... like punisments, shit they nicked 5 I cant emagine they are repeaters and or were off theer facess... read this http://www.badd.co.nz/2_AboutBadd.php then read her personal tragic story... http://www.badd.co.nz/2a_AboutBadd.php
IMO saving that acco from happening is FAR more important than 5 bikers leaving a rally.
    cheers DD

Hey Scummy, I think the point that has caused the umm anger for want of a better word is not that this was done but how it was done, there might be some photos around of the set up, I would say that if it was road works then they would not comply with the Transit legislation, the safety zones that had been established by the organisers were comprised in such a manner that had there been a crash the Police would be obligated to investigate. I have had a look at the MTM/STMS notes I have here and well that would be how they interpret the situation.

There were too few testing officers on site, and they had a fair idea of the numbers of riders, evidential blood tests were being done in Timaru instead of having a doctor there, I was speaking to a gent in Timaru who had undergone the blood test, he was taken to Timaru, had to wait 1 hour for the test, and during that time was able to drink plenty of water and go to the loo, had his result been just over there was a dam good chance in the time he had he could have gotten the blood levels down to a pass.

Guess I can see where you are coming from, and those who did get caught were undoubtedly stupid, it really would have been nice to see no bikers and a few cages caught, it would have been interesting to have a look at the figures of how many cars and trucks that passed through vs bikers that left the camp were tested.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

when we left the site we turnd right out of the 30k zone into the 100k zone, approx 100mtrs later breath testing & no signage other than marker cones in the middle of road
the bosses can take a up the arse for that FU & if there had been an accindent....
    thankfully there was not

while taking these shots two 4x4's & one car went through with out being tested
