    Question Personal accounting packages?

Ok far from bike related but anyway.

Was woundering if anyone had any recomendations fir some personal accounting software? I currently use a excell spreadsheet I got from a friend of a friend, and that works well, but the down sdide it is all manual data entry and was woundering if there is anything out there that anyone would recomend that works in with .csv, .qif, or .tsv type files that I can download from my online banking.

So any one got any recomendations?

Have you had a play with MS Money? I had a play with it as a personal system, but it downloads from the Bank easily.

GnuCash seems to be reasonably well respected, and is free software.

Haven't used it myself for several years.

This is one of my favourite small business programes. Very easy to use. Has my vote

I have also used MYOB. But this is not a simple programme, unless you are financial and computer minded

Had a play round today with GnuCash today. Its a nice program, good if you are manually entering things. It does talk to the .qif files but takes a lot of organisation after the fact so might keep looking.

Cheers Frosty, I have got some time to kill tomorrow so might head down to the yard.

I have down loaded a trial version of Quicken Personal 2010 so will have a play with that as well, any one got any opinion of the Quicken software?

The Moneyworks family of programs are easy to use and should do the job. Local program - cognito software in Takapuna...works for me.

We use Quicken Quickbooks in business... does what we need I guess, probably don't use it for everything, mostly receiving bills and paying them and managing stock...
