and raw knees!
Rode to Hamilton yesterday, and for the first time in a long time found the balls of my feet feeling quite tender. As I adjusted my foot position from instep to ball a few times I felt an unpleasant sensation surrounding the top of my right knee. It was aggravated by stops at almost every set of lights as we came into Hamilton (I was not keen to try a new position of "stopping with left foot only down" while not being terribly comfortable).
When I arrived at destination and removed my leathers the flesh at the top of both my knees, the right in particular, were a fiery red colour and slightly weepy. Eeeew.
I guess it was a combination of heat (although because of the temp I chose not to wear anything under my pants), sweat and leg movement which caused the skin to burn the way it did.
I don't really want to wear leggings under my leathers in the heat while riding, and am too fat to wear jeans under them.
Any suggestions (apart from lose the pork) for how to cope with this icky situation?
p.s. riding naked is not really an option....
