Oh look, they're all sportsbikes! (Stop laughing.....)

Seriously; what the? There appears to be little wrong with the conditions or the road, unless some smart arse with a video camera sprayed it with silicone.

Some of those guys should take the bus.

So what the hell is causing all this mayhem??. Not speed. Looks like the back wheel slides out from underneath. Too much power at the wrong time??

Might have something to do with smooth surface or gravel. American roads can be too smooth.

The guy who went over the fence came in to hot, applied the back brake and custard and shit is not a happy mix.

I don't get it, are they doing it on purpose?? Or going too slow for the lean they're trying to put on? Or there's something invisible on the road?

    Is Mulholland highway cursed?

Seriously though I couldn't work out some of the crashes.

First one it looked like new tyres. A few of the others it seemed to be leaning to far over for their speed but the worst one was the black street triple, that entry angle for the corner was just asking for trouble. He must have hit the back brake too hard or something. He wasn't even going that fast but managed to lock up the back and feck everything up.

My only other guess is that it was a "try a different bike day" for harley owners?

Edit: Just watched it again and the crap street triple owner seems to have tried to turn for the corner while putting on his front brake (due to nervousness about his crap entry angle no doubt) which gave the bike conflicting messages and ended up in what we see.

This is a piece of road known as "The Snake" I think you will find that they are not going as slowly as they look in the video's and have just got it wrong combined with the dust that gets onto the road (Bit like chalk at Taupo)

You gotta love some of the protective gear these guys are using don't you!!!

I guess they were showing off infront of the camera but having some bad luck. Just like I did a couple years ago (got a pic to prove it).

What the... looks like a lot of them tried to power on too hard too early.

But how that many fucked it up in the exact same place is beyond me. And the fact that it was all filmed too?

    So many questions.

Every week there are one or two serious accidents on The Snake, most which are caused by vehicles crossing the double yellow line or unsafe speeds.
    from http://www.rockstorephotos.com/snake.htm

Looking at other videos of the run and the amount of bikes on it I get the feeling that 'Ghouls' just sit on the side of the road videoing everything and just wait to 'get lucky' with a crash they then post.

    Good training videos though

It might be the first summer day, when all "sunday riders" have taken their bikes out of the garage and going for a ride after a whole winter of non-riding.

If you look carefuly, most riders do basic "beginer" mistakes:
    - one of them comes too hot, the corner takes him by suprprise and he doesn't even have time to lean. Comes sitting straight in the corner, tries to brake, locks the rear and gets thrown over the rail
    - most of the other guys come in the corner quite slow, not being too sure of their bikes. Try leaning more to be able to increase speed, but instead of leaning properly, they just hang their asses off the bike like a beginner, leaving them hanging on with their hands. Once "off the bike" they think - now I can go faster. Twist the throttle (a little bit too much), bike starts squirming and they try to hang on with their hands wich makes things even worse - the throttle gets twisted even more and before you know it they are on the ground.
