    Idiot council/road workers.

SORRY FOLKS JUST NEED TO VENT SOME STEAM
We live/work in an industrial area with fairly heavy traffic flow during the day. At night you'll be lucky to see one car every couple of minutes.
The council decided it was a great idea to resurface the road during the day when it would cause maximum disruption /inconveniance to traffic.
    WTF were they thinking??

that council workers need to sleep too, that they didnt want to wake people during the night, that road surfacing equipment/supplies are more readily available during the day, that the tar etc sticks better if done during the day, that numpty drivers would plow into them if they did it at night. Dunno if any of those are the right reason, just saying is all.

    You missed the real reason:

Money. It costs less to employ people during the day than it does during the night.

And it doesn't cost the council anything to inconvenience traffic - at least not directly.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Traffic management is always a cost to a roading project/council.

I should perhaps clarify - inconveniencing traffic won't go on the bill for the road works.
