Unless you got a bunch of mates using Telecom or Vodafone services and you love them enough to put their numbers on your Best Mates or Favourites add-on, or you use mobile data frequently, there's really no reason not to switch to 2degrees. I'm surprised Telecom and Vodafone are still charging what they are charging. The only issue that I can see is that if you live in a rural area where 2degrees doesn't have their own cell towers (hence relying on Vodafone roaming agreement) and Vodafone decides to play dirty.

I'm pretty sure they're only roaming on Vodafone's 2G network. Which is fine for 'basic' needs of a handset. But not for anything that requires any bandwidth.
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

They have better coverage than telecom down this end of the county too, Can't fault them at all.

Anyone know what 2Degrees is like around Otago? Lost my cell phone last night somewhere between the third bottle of wine and face down in the pizza, got to love those xmas office parties. Only use the basics, text and phone, and haven't had a problem with Vodafone. Just wondering whether to go 2Degrees seeing as I have lost the sim card and will need a new number anyway.

EDIT - Santa sorted me out.

Dave the coverage around Wgtn is surprisingly poor in places. For example, I often get no coverage on SH1 between Pukerua Bay and Paekak. I went from Telecom to 2 Degrees. Was cheaper but the coverage was not as good and quite often texts are not sent/received. I have just gone back to Telecom with their iPhone deal.

Give them a go, but the network coverage and performance is not as good as Telecom, but it is cheaper.
