is that the one with the chevy sticking out of it in the main street.
Nope that place is called the Stampede Bar, used to be the Roadhouse, and The Forge is on East Street, in the 1980's late when the Army used to be based in Papakura, it had great music, and well it was the place to go, the new owner wants to get those people back, and bring in some bands every week.

I beg to differ on the great music comment...whenever I asked the DJ to play some rock all the tosser would put on was Eagle Rock.I still can't stand that song now.

Best night I had there was when a Doors cover band from Aussie played there and they were pretty damn good.

I like the sound of the new owner tho.

haha yes eagle rock was pretty strong back then... I guess the majority ruled... I remember some great bands there too, but over all the music was not all that bad, don't remember the DJ one of my friends asked if they still have the cages... I hope not!!!!!!

Afterwards you can head to Itchycoo Park on Ti Rakau. Many a night spent passed out under one of the spa pools at the pool shop down the road.

Even better - one of my old school mates (huge gorilla of an island boy!) was a bouncer - every underager I potted, I got $5 added to a tab... I drank there for a week without spending a cent!

Forge used to let a lot of young 'uns in, and was always being raided by the fuzz, so I was doing my bit to preserve my watering hole

Go to a real Pub, 'Dragon' are playing tonight at the Mangawahai Tavern tonight, minus Marc Hunter, but Mark Williams is fronting the band.
