I use the light universe and much of what I read on KB really fucks me off. Perhaps changing to the dark universe may help in that regard.

    Okay,
I used to use Light Universe, now that the update has happened I have actually switched to the Dark Universe...
Seems apparent that I am a Rebel to what Vbulletin defaults to.....

All the same, it doesn't actually effect my attitude towards to what I write on KB.
What is written already effects that.

I do see where you are coming from WRT the idea of what you see influences your thoughts.

I wonder if there was a "Red Zone" if people's posts would be more aggressive and abusive than they already are...

Prior to the site upgrade, there was a Pink Hell(TM) for a select few. It worked a treat.

    No, you need specialist help.

Seriously, if things fuck me off that much I'm in the wrong place. Take television or example - OFF! Can't be fucked watching that wind-up bullshit drivel, but some people deliberately feed themselves on it, and wonder why they always feel really angry about the things they see, and then angry about the other normal interactions in their lives.

I think what affects us mostly, is our daily levels of self-esteem. It's easy to be happy and positive when everything's going right, but life doesn't always work that way. Things don't work out on occasion, and that just chips little bits off us, sometimes enough to make us vulnerable to something larger, and then we respond as if thats the whole problem, when its just the final straw. Add to it bad habits, like feeding the mind harmful material such as TV or negative self-speak, and you have someone ready to angrily cut someone up for almost no reason. I'm pretty glad I'm not regularly around someone such as this. I see it from time to time, but I reassure myself it's their heart attack and not mine.

    Hehe, have a fun day!

    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

Dark universe at home, light universe at work. There's no software at work that has a black screen so it'd be a bit obvious I'm not working. Not that I get much "playtime" of late anyhoo...

It's a peculiar phenomenon. I didn't believe it at first, and the guy who came up with principle has been ridiculed for it - but the more you look at the examples the more it makes sense. All I know is that next time I go to talk to NZDF recruiting I'm gonna make sure the person is drinking coffee!

Do you find though, that in the short period after being pissed off by the TV you are also more likely to be negative towards things in your surroundings compared to if you had simply turned the TV off because your favourite show had just finished.

There is a pretty good chance of that....
In fact, I would be cautious if they weren't drinking coffee anyway!

agree with the short period of of negativity staying with you after the fact......those stupid talkshows they used to have on tv years back would piss me off to no end, stopped watching tv during the day cause they were just full of idiots who had nothing better to do than be on tv complaining about their problems....idiots!!
See gettting aggro just thinking about it.
Anyways light versus dark...meh dont really think it makes a difference to me! Use the dark and will always use the dark!
