Yeah because he wouldn't bullshit anyone would he? I don't suppose you have that in writing from Jim?

At least these bikes have starter motors on so the poor swinger doesn't have to spend all his time pushing them up and down the pits trying to start them

How much do you reckon they cost compared to running even a mid pack Superbike?

Yeah pretty much on the button there, I was meant to have an explanation from JT on Monday after I emailed last weekend him but I'm still waiting

Scrivy? pfft couldn't ride a sidecar to save himself

Jim Tuckerman says different to what you're putting out there and is using the Truck meeting as an example of "if you could afford to do that you could afford three rounds", I don't think he has looked to closely at who attended it and how it was paid for if he really thinks that though

Oh JT does read this forum to

Now everyone here knows who each other his so how about letting us know who you are? by pm if you're shy

One other thing I don't understand if that was correct why would JT listen to them and go for 3 South Island rounds on their say so rather than what the NZSRA have to say?

I'd agree that that standalone meeting has nothing to do with this years 'issues' I went; as I've been to the south island nationals for the last couple of years (from north as a spectator) and it was the most enjoyable time I've had with the lads for quite few years. Not saying the other meetings weren't enjoyable but for some reason this one was better, and it was a great one off event for the NZSRA shame people are still squabbling over it really
Also 'from what you've heard' is not a fair comment on those competitors really, or indeed anyone out there giving it a shot, whoever you are you need to be aware that in any sport there can be no first places if there are are no last places; or are you the type of person who needs counselling every time the all blacks come off the feild in second place??
Some years ago the car racing people lured sidecars into a few of their meetings and everyone was about to jump ships and to hell with MNZ cause they thought they'd be treated better bigger crowds, lots of hot young chickys running round in short short mini-skirts wearing low cut tops with push up bras and nipples so hard you could dial a telephone with them etc
It wasn't quite like that although there was lots of hot young chickys running round in short short mini-skirts wearing low cut tops with push up bras and nipples so hard you could dial a telephone with but the car racers quickly resented how popular the sidecars were and saw they were a threat to there meetings and self esteem and things started going down hill from there....
I'm off to ruapuna and yes the feilds are down a bit but I'll still enjoy it...

After two nights chucking pillows at your head to stop you snoring like a bloody locomotive & three hours sleep, the enjoyment was fast fading for me.
But, yeah, seriously, i know what you mean. From the on track antics, to the camraderie in the pits, to sitting around the table late into the night at the Temuka camping ground with much ale setting the woes of the world to rights, it was unforgettable & thats why we go racing.

nice race report from wangas Kickaha, pity the thread went haywire,& i am glad some came to my rescue on being blamed for all this due to the big car meeting a few attended. The big thing is now after all the threats that we have to do 3 rounds down south to be eligible for a national points series, what happens now there is only 2 ??? not really fair when there is at least 6 moresidecars up here who wanted to come & do 2. anyway hope you & Dave make it to Paeroa & we can have some more close racing. Chris

I would have described the sound as that of a D9 with no muffler, at the bottom of a quarry......

How the hell someones race report turned into a shit slinging match of these proportions is a bit beyond me. But I'm keen to know more.

There's sweet FA sidecar racing in the North Island with the exception of the streets, and Tri Series. Why is the asscociation adverse to 3 meetings in the south as opposed to two? I mean, you've gotta go down there anyway if there's only two, why not spend another week there? Personally I'd have thought people would be gagging for the extra round. Not being involved I obviously don't know the ins or outs but am genuinely interested if someone can enlighten me.

Because there is an un equalled level of repressed anger within the ranks as a result of things not being handled according to the majority vote.
This is what happens in a Dictatorshit rather than a Democracy.

Really? I never would have guessed....... Understood, but obviously as I'm not an asscociation member I'm not party to the discussions. Just wondering why the majority didn't want 3 SI rounds is all.

That question is probably best answered by either "racer 40" Chris Lawrence, or "Burtsidecar16" Burt Wolland, the NZSRA President. You could p.m either & get them to post the answer on this thread.
