Interestingly, we are looking at repowering Traceys pink bike because it has a '96 Yamaha in it thats obviously not the latest thing anymore & one of the top Aussie sidecar mechanics said a 675 would be the best option.
They seem to be a very tall motor though, which may be challenging.

There a things called training wheels Wharfy, they will help you keep your 675 upright. Problem solved.

People seem to wreck them a lot - 3 on trademe in the last month !! wrecked 675's seem to go for a LOT of money (I actually bid on one which went for over 7 GRAND - I'd dropped out way before that though ) one went for over 5 grand and the one still running is over 3 grand and it is well fucked

Talk about co-incidence ! I was reading a book recently (well looking at the pictures) and there was one of a youthfull Shaun Harris as a sidecar passenger at the Hamilton Lake road circuit !! I was not going to mention it but seeing as you hvae "come out" as it were I guess it is OK to talk about it now ?

Ive seen the same photo. The other bloke was Geoff McLaren. I could tell you a story about those two, a trailer & an old XC Falcon wagon. Oh, and some kick arse weed.

If a NZ championship title is awarded this year, it will be the lamest win in the entire history of racing of any type ever, & if i was the recipient (and i wouldnt be because we wouldnt even have bothered to unload the sidecar if four others that were in a completely different (lower) league to us turned up) i would chuck it in with the recycling the following Thursday, because thats all it would be worth.
Thats a pathetic attitude, and a two faced one too. There were only three or four Post Classic sidecars at the final round of the Tri Series and you and Scrivy 'bothered' to get yours off the trailer and also proudly took the prize too (have you chucked out this one in the recycling like you said you would). What was different about this series eh?
There's a number of people unhappy with the NZ Nationals for sidecars Bob, and have said their bit, you and Scrivy are the only ones still whining on about it; seems to me that you're a spoilt child who should've aired your veiws and left it at that a long time ago as now anything you say is not worth a pinch of shit really

An interesting & poorly researched view, but one you are entitled to none the less.
Having had the President of the NZSRA on the phone 3 minutes before reading your pearls of wisdom, i can assure you we are not the only ones "Still whining on about it" either.
As for the Tri series trophy, they were kinda crap looking & more of a handy drinks tray, so i'll probably hang on to it for now.

I'm not going to get on here and bag your comment, but the biggest difference in your statement is the fact that we race our BMW sidecar in the same league as others eg. Bob is referring to the fact that our machine is not far superior to most others in the class. Without a doubt our machine is far removed from others we race against. We do not run on methanol, we run a standard cam, we run an alternator and starter, we even have decompression plates under the barrels, and run thicker head gaskets to further detune it. I'm picking our machine would also be the least expensive in the class.

As Bob said, there's a huge number of people very aggrieved by the situation this year. Bobs quite within his right to have his disapproval, as his and Tracey's team have spent lots of time and money (as have over 8 other teams) just to find out they couldn't compete in the championship that was agreed upon. You have to also remember that most competitors don't use or even know about KB, so don't get on here to voice their opinions.
Bob and I obviously don't have a life, hence we spend lots of time on KB......
